HRevolution, Food For the HR Soul

Nashville’s Own Prince’s Hot Chicken

I read this great food article in my hometown newspaper today. Chef Thomas Keller of  NYC’s “French Laundry” fame came to town. And where did food writer Jennifer Justus take him? Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack!

What struck me was Keller’s comment about sharing food. “It is a protein we all enjoy… that transcends cultural & economic boundaries.” (Kinda like BACON!) And Prince’s Chicken Shack certainly reflects that diversity today. You never know who you might see when you walk in. This week it is the church-going grandma, last week Gwyneth Paltrow.

Sometimes the unspoken of what brings us together can create a magical situation. Synergies are formed, created through common experiences and interests. Whether it is Human Resources, chicken, bacon or Twitter the common ground established must be shared in person. It is not contrived or forced like many team building opportunities or conferences. It evolves. HRevolution has evolved into one of those places in time that will take your online professional relationships and make them live and in person with unspoken synergy.

Let me say as an HRevolution Alum, if you are on the fence about attending, you are engaging the online HR audience and you feel connected, go now and sign up. I did not know a soul last year. It did not seem to matter. You will walk in experiencing the familiar because of the common experience of online social networking. This year, as the online collaboration and conversations continues, my soul continues to be fed at a different professional dimension because we all met in person.

HRevolution2010 I have a schedule conflict this year and cannot attend. But, I would be there in a heartbeat if the schedule allowed. Better sign up and get my extra spot. It won’t be available next time. I hope to meet you then. So take yourself to the HRevolution Chicken Shack –or should I say Catalyst Ranch – on May 7th and 8th. It is an event where ideas and conversation are shared off line. Where YOU participate and share your point of view. Where the advantage of 100 spots will show in the ability to interact in small groups and get to know some of the top online HR influencers, bloggers, consultants, and practitioners in HR. And where the nightlife should prove memorable.

Feed you HR soul. Register now.

Man I love French Laundry’s website! Beautiful! And who is craving fried chicken now? Better yet, who is craving HRevolution?

Good stuff, Lyn! Thanks for sharing about your experience. I had no idea who you were when I met you last year, but we still had a fantastic time, right? :-) We’ll miss you, but we know you’ll be attending in spirit!

Yeah we had a great time! Just know I’ll be looking for the tweets and I’ll be reaching out from cyber space… maybe a little bit closer than in spirit ;) I know it is going to be a great conference. You guys rock!
