Imperfection Be Damned

Grammar Flunkie

I was kicked into the realization that I must get this blog in circulation. Thanks to Lance Haun – HR Influence King and BBQ Guru- with last week’s blog post “The Useless Goal of Perfection”. It is so easy to give advice, but sometimes hard to take it. People ask me every day, how can I start a business? Well, you just start and you don’t look back. You take a great idea and do what you can and try your best. We at Berkeley Tandem, Inc. have always been the little guy wiggling our way up. Up is the key word. We play out strategy that works, and sometimes doesn’t work. That is just business. You keep doing it and you will find, more often than not, up is very achievable. Why don’t I have the same perspective on my blog?

Well Lance put me on the couch with his post. Fear of grammatical errors, spelling errors (I’m dyslexic and can spend more time editing than writing.) and miss-placed facts. Layer that with the fact I am a HR recognition product designer, graphic design is a strength, yet I struggle to design in Word press. I want beauty. I just see a work in progress.

So I embrace the work-in-progress and the imperfection. Just like my business, it is a process that is ever evolving. Maybe this is my therapy apology post. Sorry about this mess. But, next time you come it will be better. I see so much potential. And I look forward to sharing with you all the Bacon HR can dish out. Time to serve up the HR Bacon Hut for all to see and enjoy. Lets hope I don’t burn the food. But, if I do I will just keep trying to get it right.

    Lyn,
My only advice is to echo Lance and tell you to just write. It’s ok if it’s not perfect. We’ve all got our imperfections. The great thing about our community is that we embrace each other, imperfections and all. And, we celebrate each other.

Believe me, you’ll look back a year from now and see how much you have grown. I can’t wait to take the ride with you!

Thanks Trish! Sometimes all it takes is an encouraging pat on the back to launch a success story! I appreciate it so much.
